The first chapter we covered in MA procedures was chapter 37, Assisting with medical specialties. This chapter discussed the role of the medical assistant. A medical assistant must be able to assist the physician with procedures and instruct the patient before, during, and after these procedures. Working as a medical assistant will bring contact to many different conditions and diseases. This chapter goes into detail of these diseases, examinations, and procedures. It also talks about test performed to take care of these diseases along with the system they are specific to. The clinical role of the medical assistant will include many different procedures related to different body systems, such as: cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, digestive, lymphatic system, and musculomskeletal system. This chapter shows the importance of knowing the different tasks and knowledge of the field you choose to go into.
